Purpose and appearance

What do we use this format for?

For brands focused on a branch, a project or a delivery area, our reason for choosing this DSP is reaching potential customers in specific districts and neighborhoods through display, native and masthead ads on local publishers. We aim to spend the budget in the right area instead of across a whole province, and to move site visitors toward conversion with retargeting.

Funnel stages it serves

  1. Awareness
  2. Consideration
  3. Conversion
  4. Loyalty

TheADX DSP targeting options and what we use each for

TheADX DSP's targeting menu has six main groups: location, retargeting, inventory, performance, time and technical targeting. The most distinctive for us is choosing location at neighborhood level. For a single-branch clinic, a real estate project or a courier serving specific districts, province-level targeting wastes most of the budget.

  • Location and neighborhood: around a branch, a project area, a delivery zone
  • Device and operating system: separate messages or store links for iOS and Android
  • Keywords: contextual matching based on page content
  • Time zone and language: office hours, evening slots or audiences reading content in a foreign language
  • Inventory: including or excluding specific publishers and apps
  • Retargeting: return messages for site visitors

Masthead and native ads on local publishers

A masthead is a large format at the very top of a site, usually bought for one day or a short period. When you need high visibility on a single date, such as a launch or campaign day, buying it from the same platform as programmatic makes planning easier. Native ads match the publisher's content feed and work better for content marketing that leads readers to long-form reads on news sites.

For native at the scale of large recommendation networks, Taboola Realize Native offers wider distribution. We choose TheADX for native when the local publisher list matters and the creative needs to appear on specific sites. In native headlines we avoid clickbait-style phrases; when trust between the publisher and its readers suffers, clicks may rise but on-site quality drops.

Bids and budget settings we pay attention to

The platform says it optimizes bids with smart pricing and can work toward CPC or click-through rate goals. A click-through rate goal is easy to measure but can mislead: accidental clicks on in-app banners raise the rate and come back as bounces on the site. So for click-goal campaigns we read on-site behavior in GA4 and remove apps and sites with very short session duration from the inventory list.

Daily and campaign-level spend caps can be set at the same time. In a new campaign we keep the daily cap low in the first week and raise it after seeing which publishers and apps pull the budget. If the same brand also runs open web display through DV360 Display and Native, we split sites between platforms at the start so the two DSPs do not bid against each other on the same local publisher.

Setup and reporting

Campaign setup has four steps: ad upload, ad type selection, settings and launch. We add the retargeting code to the site with Google Tag Manager and define conversion events in TheADX separately. Through the platform's Google Data Studio integration, we bring TheADX data into a Data Studio dashboard and place conversions by region next to city and district data from GA4.

TheADX DSP (Display, Video, Native): when do we recommend it?

We recommend it

  • Local businesses and real estate projects looking for customers in specific districts or neighborhoods
  • Brands that want to appear on local news and sports sites with masthead or native ads
  • App and e-commerce brands that want to give iOS and Android users different messages

We don't recommend it

  • Campaigns focused on markets outside Türkiye
  • Campaigns where no tracking code can be installed on the site and that would be judged only by click-through rate
  • Large e-commerce sites that need dynamic banners generated from a product catalog

Frequently asked questions

TheADX DSP (Display, Video, Native): frequently asked questions

What is TheADX?

TheADX is a programmatic advertising platform developed in Türkiye. Its self-serve DSP buys display, video, native, HTML5, masthead and in-app ads on websites and iOS and Android apps, with targeting down to neighborhood level.

How precise is neighborhood-level targeting?

Location data comes from the device and connection, so neighborhood accuracy is not guaranteed for every impression. Reach also shrinks fast in narrow areas. So instead of a single neighborhood, we group neighboring ones and compare results by area.

Can we run in-app ads on TheADX DSP?

Yes. The platform serves on iOS and Android apps as well as websites. Because accidental clicks are more likely in in-app inventory, we judge results by on-site behavior and conversions rather than click-through rate.

Do we need a separate deal for a local site's masthead?

Masthead is among the formats TheADX supports. Which publisher has it open on which date depends on the publisher's inventory. A few weeks before the launch date, we ask the platform for the list of available slots and confirm the date accordingly.

TheADX or DV360 for local campaigns in Türkiye?

TheADX is the stronger fit for neighborhood-level targeting and local publisher lists. DV360 suits multi-channel plans with YouTube, CTV and global inventory. If both run, we split sites between them so they do not bid against each other.
