Display and Native
DV360 image, HTML5 and native ads on the open web, run with exchange selection, viewability thresholds and third-party verification.
ExploreDisplay & Video 360 is the demand-side platform (DSP) in Google Marketing Platform. It lets you buy YouTube, display and video placements on the open web, connected TV apps, audio streams and digital out-of-home screens from one interface, under shared audience and frequency rules. As a DV360 agency, we recommend it when a media plan spans several channels and how often the same person sees an ad starts to affect the budget.
We choose DV360 for brands that need to buy YouTube, the open web, connected TV, audio and out-of-home screens in one media plan, reaching the same audience under a shared frequency cap. The business goal is to grow unique reach without over-serving the same person across channels, and to separate which channel contributes to sales using Floodlight or GA4 data.
Funnel stages it serves
DV360 image, HTML5 and native ads on the open web, run with exchange selection, viewability thresholds and third-party verification.
ExploreInstream and outstream video ads on open web and app inventory outside YouTube, managed by player size and completion data.
ExploreYouTube & partners and Demand Gen line items in DV360, with Floodlight optimization and one frequency plan across video channels.
ExploreSmart TV apps and YouTube on CTV, managed with the Connected TV IO, publisher deals and a household frequency plan.
ExploreAudio ads across music streaming, podcasts and live radio, managed with content type targeting and companion banners.
ExploreProgrammatic DOOH: airport, mall and transit screens bought by hour and area through DV360 Marketplace deals.
ExploreOpen auction, PMP, preferred deal and Programmatic Guaranteed buying in DV360, including YouTube, with delivery tracked deal by deal.
ExploreThere is no self-serve sign-up for DV360. An account is opened directly with a Google Marketing Platform contract or through a partner that holds one. The structure is layered: partner, advertisers below it, and below them campaigns, insertion orders (IOs) and line items. Budget, dates and frequency caps are set on the IO; line items bid while sharing that budget.
Google Ads also buys YouTube and the Display Network, but only in Google's auction. In DV360 we access third-party exchanges alongside Google Ad Manager, private deals set up with publishers, and Programmatic Guaranteed reservations. Verification services such as IAS or DoubleVerify can be added at line item level, and hundreds of line items can be edited in bulk with Structured Data Files (SDF). That flexibility also means extra workload; for small, single-channel plans, Google Ads stays more efficient.
The IO type determines which line items can go inside it and the default settings. Fixing a campaign that started with the wrong type often means rebuilding it, so we do not choose the type before the media plan is approved. For example, an open web display line item cannot be added to a Connected TV IO, and a DOOH IO works only with deals tied to screen inventory.
We read conversions in two ways. For brands using Campaign Manager 360, Floodlight tags feed both reporting and automated bidding. In accounts without Campaign Manager 360, we link the GA4 property to the DV360 advertiser; GA4 audiences and conversions flow into DV360 and can be used for custom bidding. We usually deploy tags through Google Tag Manager and test counting methods and double counting before going live.
With the NewFront announcements in March 2026, Gemini-based features came to DV360: the Ads Advisor assistant that turns a media plan into a campaign setup and diagnoses creative disapprovals, pre-curated media packages in Marketplace, AI-assisted bidding for live sports on CTV, and Confidential Publisher Match, which matches first-party data with publisher signals in a secure environment. They speed up the setup draft; targeting and deal control remain our job.

No. DV360 has no self-serve sign-up; access comes through a Google Marketing Platform contract or a partner that holds one. The brand's data and reports are kept in its own advertiser account, so history can be preserved even if the partner changes.
Not always. If conversion-focused YouTube campaigns work well in Google Ads, moving them often just adds workload. DV360 makes sense if you want YouTube, open web video and CTV in one frequency plan, or want to buy YouTube Programmatic Guaranteed.
Yes. By linking the GA4 property to the DV360 advertiser, we can bring in conversions and audiences, and those conversions can also be used in custom bidding. We recommend Campaign Manager 360 when you need cross-channel impression-based reporting, a shared tag setup with publishers outside DV360 and one Floodlight configuration.
When the plan spans several channels and inventory sources, needs deals with specific publishers, or requires third-party verification. For a small, single-channel plan, Google Ads or the channel's own platform is usually more efficient.
