Pinterest Ads Management

People who open Pinterest usually don't have a brand in mind. They want to redo the living room, find a graduation dress or plan the week's meals; according to Pinterest's data, 96% of popular searches are non-branded. Our Pinterest advertising is built around that pre-decision moment: we match keywords, interests and categories to what people are planning, so your brand gets onto the shortlist early. In Türkiye, the platform reaches about 40% of the online population.

What do we use this platform for?

We use Pinterest to get onto the shortlist of people collecting ideas for home, fashion, beauty or weddings before they have chosen a brand. We capture demand early in non-branded searches and the home feed, then turn ideas saved to boards into sales during the season with catalog and retargeting campaigns. In reporting we look at saves and delayed conversions alongside last-click sales.

How people search on Pinterest, and why it matters for advertisers

Pinterest is less a social network than a visual search and planning tool. The platform reports more than 6 billion searches a month and 1.5 billion saves a week. A user saves an idea to a board and returns to it days or weeks later to decide. That's why we don't tie measurement to a single click; we follow the journey that starts with a save and continues with a return visit.

The top searches in Pinterest's data for Türkiye from October 2024 to September 2025 illustrate this behavior well: 'living room interior', 'modest dresses', 'healthy recipes', 'bindallı henna night dress', 'makeup ideas'. None of them includes a brand name. We build keyword targeting and creative language around needs-based searches like these, and place the brand name inside the visual so it is remembered later.

Pinterest audience demographics in Türkiye

Pinterest lists Türkiye among its 2024 expansion markets, and brands in Türkiye can open campaigns directly to this audience. GWI data shared by Pinterest (Türkiye, Q3 2024 to Q2 2025, monthly users) shows that the audience isn't made up only of young women. Men account for a little over a third. For a brand selling menswear, grooming or home appliances, we look at this figure before ruling Pinterest out.

  • Gender: 64% women, 36% men
  • Income: 40% of users have a high household income
  • Age: 16-24 28%, 25-34 25%, 35-44 21%, 45-54 16%, 55 and over 10%
  • Generation: Gen Z 38%, Millennials 32%, Gen X 29%

Choosing Pinterest ad formats, campaign objectives and tracking

For launches and the start of a season, we combine standard image and video ads under an awareness objective. Running Premiere Spotlight alongside standard and video ads gives a launch both a strong first impression and repeated reach. For ecommerce brands with a product catalog, we put the weight on Pinterest Shopping ads and bring in Performance+ campaigns once conversion volume is sufficient.

We mostly install the Pinterest tag through Google Tag Manager and also send server-side events via the Conversions API. Because users rarely buy on the same day, Pinterest looks smaller than it is in a report based on last click. We map out the season calendar with seasonal behavior analysis and launch campaigns before search volume rises.

Pinterest Ads: when do we recommend it?

We recommend it

  • Brands in planning-driven categories such as home decor, fashion, beauty, food and weddings
  • Brands with regular visual production that can show the product in a usage scene
  • Ecommerce sites that want to capture demand early, ahead of a season or special occasion
  • Accounts facing rising costs on Meta and Google and looking for a new discovery channel

We don't recommend it

  • Services bought the same day out of urgent need (locksmiths, emergency services and the like)
  • B2B products that are hard to show visually and sell only on price and technical specs
  • Brands that can't install the Pinterest tag or haven't published return and shipping policies on their site

How we manage Pinterest Ads

  1. Category and search scanWe pull the Turkish and English terms searched in the brand's category and group the non-branded, needs-based searches.
  2. Tag and Conversions APIWe install the Pinterest tag with page view, add to cart, checkout and lead events and match them with server-side events.
  3. Pin format matchingWe sort available photos and videos into standard, carousel, video and Collections formats and list any missing vertical versions.
  4. Format and objective alignmentWe run awareness, consideration and sales objectives in separate campaigns and choose the right ad model for each.
  5. Reading saves and delayed conversionsWe report saves, outbound clicks and conversions within the attribution window together.

Frequently asked questions

Pinterest Ads: frequently asked questions

Are Pinterest ads worth it?

For categories where people plan before buying, such as home, fashion, beauty, food and weddings, usually yes. Pinterest reaches people before they have picked a brand. The catch is measurement: users return to saved ideas days later, so judging Pinterest on last-click sales alone makes it look smaller than it is.

Does Pinterest only reach women?

No. According to GWI data shared by Pinterest, 36% of monthly users in Türkiye are men. Women are clearly the majority, but there is substantial search volume in men's grooming, home appliances and gift categories. That's why we target by interests and keywords rather than gender.

How long do Pinterest ads take to deliver results?

Saves and clicks show up from the first days. The impact on sales comes later, because users often return to a saved idea days afterwards. We make the first assessment with at least four to six weeks of data, taking the attribution window into account.

How do you track conversions from Pinterest ads?

We install the Pinterest tag, mostly through Google Tag Manager, and also send server-side events via the Conversions API. In reporting we look at saves and delayed conversions alongside last-click sales.

Can we use visuals made for Instagram on Pinterest?

Yes, but they need adapting. Pinterest recommends 2:3 vertical images, and users in the home feed are looking for ideas. We turn a square campaign visual into a vertical version that shows the product in use, with a short text overlay.
