Facebook and Instagram Lead Ads: Instant Forms That Turn Into Sales

Meta lead ads let people submit a form pre-filled with their profile details without leaving Facebook or Instagram. Because it's so easy, submissions rise fast, and that's where the problem starts: a large share of easy leads never answer the phone. So we build Facebook lead ads around the number of leads your sales team can actually reach, not the number of forms.

Purpose and appearance

What do we use this format for?

We use lead ads for businesses that close sales by phone or in person, to collect leads the sales team can call and reach. By sending call and sales outcomes from the CRM back to Meta, we steer delivery toward the kind of lead that becomes a customer. We measure success by cost per closed sale, not cost per form.

Funnel stages it serves

  1. Awareness
  2. Consideration
  3. Conversion
  4. Loyalty

Instant form types: More volume or Higher intent?

When you create an instant form, Meta offers two main types. 'More volume' keeps the form as short as possible for quick submission. 'Higher intent' adds a review screen where people confirm their details before submitting; volume drops, but reachability usually improves.

We choose the form type based on the sales team's calling capacity. Setting up a volume form for a team that can't call a hundred submissions a day means even the hottest leads get called late and go cold. For high-ticket services (housing, private schools, aesthetic treatments), we start with a higher intent form and two or three qualifying questions.

How to build a Facebook lead form that filters leads

Every field in the form is a choice. Pre-filled name, email and phone speed users up; custom questions slow them down but filter leads. We decide which questions stay in the form by looking at the questions the sales team asks in the first call. We check the following settings on every form.

  • A multiple-choice qualifying question: one whose answer sets sales priority, such as 'When are you planning to start?'
  • Conditional questions: for example, a user who selects 'Outside Istanbul' is never shown the branch question.
  • A privacy policy link is a mandatory field in Meta. In Türkiye, we add a KVKK (Türkiye's personal data protection law) privacy notice next to it and, where required, an explicit consent checkbox.
  • On the thank-you screen, we state the next step: 'We'll call you within 30 minutes from a number starting with 0212.' When users expect the call, they're more likely to answer an unknown number.
  • We validate the phone field in mobile number format; wrong or incomplete numbers are the error that lowers quality most in forms in Türkiye.

Improving lead quality: CRM integration and conversion leads

In a standard setup, Meta only knows that a form was submitted; it doesn't know which lead turned into a meeting or a sale. As a result, a campaign optimizing for form submissions gradually drifts toward the audience that fills in forms most easily. The solution is to send CRM stages (reached, qualified, sale) back to Meta through the Conversions API and switch the performance goal to conversion leads.

This requires leads to be passed to the CRM in real time together with Meta's lead ID. We set this up with ready-made CRM integrations or a webhook; we don't use weekly Excel downloads, because feedback is delayed and the lead loses the warmth of its first hour. We also track the drop-off at each stage from lead to sale with funnel analysis.

When a website form or messaging beats an instant form

If understanding the product requires reading a page, for example with complex software, we send users to a form on the website and measure with the Pixel and Conversions API; lead volume drops, but people who arrive after reading are better informed. For businesses where users need to ask a question first, we prefer messaging ads. If the inventory can be listed, we use catalog ads to show users the form for the listing they're interested in.

Lead Ads: when do we recommend it?

We recommend it

  • Service businesses that close sales over the phone or in face-to-face meetings
  • Brands that offer a first step such as a trial lesson, free site survey or test drive
  • Companies with a sales or call team that can call leads quickly
  • B2B brands collecting data in exchange for content such as webinars and report downloads

We don't recommend it

  • E-commerce brands that can sell the product directly on their site
  • Businesses with no one to call leads within the first 24 hours
  • Teams without a CRM that never record lead outcomes; a simple tracking process should come first

How we manage Lead Ads

  1. Listening to the sales processWith the sales team, we define what makes a good and bad lead, calling capacity and response time.
  2. Form designWe write the form type, qualifying questions, conditional flow, KVKK notice and thank-you screen.
  3. CRM connectionWe pass leads to the CRM in real time with their lead ID and set up notifications for the sales team.
  4. Feedback loopWe send CRM stages to Meta via the Conversions API and switch to conversion leads optimization.
  5. Quality reportWe read reachability and sales rate by creative and audience weekly and shut down low-quality sources.

Frequently asked questions

Lead Ads: frequently asked questions

Most of our Facebook leads don't answer the phone. Is the ad the problem?

Usually it's the form. A More volume form, no qualifying question and no call expectation on the thank-you screen all lower reachability. We first move to a Higher intent form with one qualifying question, then shift optimization toward qualified leads by sending CRM outcomes back to Meta.

Instant form or website form: which is better?

Instant forms bring cheaper, faster leads; website forms bring fewer but better-informed ones. We choose based on the sales team's capacity and how complex the product is, and when unsure, test both with equal budgets on lead-to-sale rate.

How do I connect Facebook lead ads to my CRM?

Through a ready-made CRM integration or a webhook, so each lead arrives in real time with Meta's lead ID. We avoid weekly Excel downloads: feedback to Meta is delayed and the lead loses the warmth of its first hour.

What does the Advantage+ Leads campaign change?

Since 2025, new Leads campaigns open with Advantage+ budget, audience and placements by default, so Meta looks for the people most likely to fill in the form. Without CRM feedback the system grows volume rather than quality, so we don't run it without that connection.

Do lead ads in Türkiye need a KVKK notice?

Meta requires a privacy policy link on every form. For audiences in Türkiye we add a KVKK privacy notice next to it and, where required, an explicit consent checkbox. The legal wording stays with your counsel.
